Sharon Osbourne told Metro of the Philadelphia rock radio station 94 WYSP in a recent interview that she would love to get AC/DC to play next year's Ozzfest. "AC/DC are my favorite band," she said. "I love them. I would love to see Ozzy and AC/DC play together."

Ozzfest, a touring event for more than a decade, this summer transformed into a "destination festival" this summer. OZZY OSBOURNE and METALLICA headlined the one-day show last night (August 9). Also appearing on the main stage were SERJ TANKIAN, KORN singer Jonathan Davis, HELLYEAH, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, SHADOWS FALL, APOCALYPTICA, IN THIS MOMENT and the "all-star tribute" to slain PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott.

Last year's Ozzfest, which hit 25 cities, was a free event, with tickets handled through corporate sponsorship. The tour caused controversy by asking acts to play without getting paid, which many felt led to a weaker lineup.

Come fai a non volergli bene?

Columbia Records has set an October 20 release date for AC/DC's widely anticipated "Black Ice", the band's first studio album in eight years. "Black Ice" (see artwork below) features 15 new tracks from brothers Angus and Malcolm Young, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams, and Phil Rudd. The album was recorded in Vancouver in just eight weeks with producer Brendan O'Brien, who has previously worked with PEARL JAM, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN and VELVET REVOLVER, among others.

"Rock 'N Roll Train", the album's first single, will debut on August 28. A source at Harddrive Radio described it as "smoking hot. It's AC/DC like we love them, loud, anthemic and hard!" The video will premiere in September.

"Black Ice" will be sold in the U.S. exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club retail locations at the special price of $11.88. Online, the CD will be available with free shipping and handling via the band's web site, www.acdc.com. It will also be sold at Walmart.com and Samsclub.com.

As one of America's largest music retailers, Wal-Mart will join with Columbia Records to launch multiple activities for fans in celebration of the new CD album, including new product features and promotions to come this fall that will bring fans closer to one of history's greatest rock bands.

"Like all excited fans of AC/DC, we can hardly wait for the launch of this album and all that will surround it," said Gary Severson, Wal-Mart's senior vice president of Entertainment. "We promise there will be a multitude of opportunities for fans of all ages to get involved and 'rock again' as we count down to October 20."

Australia's Undercover News reports that AC/DC filmed its "Rock 'N Roll Train" video in London on Friday, August 15. The song will be the first taste of the band's new "Black Ice" album, due in October.

One fan at the shoot said in an online posting, the song "has a heavy driving drumbeat with bass being loud n hard to me. It sounded like a cross between 'Hard As A Rock' and 'All Screwed Up'."

The fans were told to jump and wave their arms while they were filmed for the chorus of the song which goes "Runaway train, running off the track."

The set looked something like "Terminator" with big cogs turning and flaming flying out.

Australia's News.com.au reports that a star-studded lineup of local and international artists will stage a tribute concert to AC/DC at this year's Adelaide International Guitar Festival.

The AC/DC We Salute You concert will close the festival on December 7 with main-stage acts performing their favorite AC/DC songs.

Two former band members will be among about 30 musicians at Elder Park to celebrate the iconic Australian rock band.

Original vocalist Dave Evans is travelling from his home in Texas, in the United States, and early bass player Mark Evans from Sydney.

According to the unofficial AC/DC web site AC/DC News, the band's much-anticipated new album, "Black Ice", will be released in three different collectible covers featuring yellow, red, and white AC/DC logos. In addition, a closer study of each design reveals they're all somewhat different with the exception of guitarist Angus Young appearing at the top center inside a circle.

AC/DC has posted a 30-second sample of its new single, "Rock 'n'Roll Train", at the band's MySpace page. The track, from the group's upcoming album "Black Ice", will arrive at radio stations nationwide on Thursday (August 28). According to Billboard.com, which got an advance listen to the album, "Black Ice" is a "15-track extravaganza that frequently echoes the down-and-dirty rock 'n'roll of its iconic 1980 album 'Back in Black'."

According to The Irish Times, tickets for AC/DC's first concert in Ireland in 12 years sold out within three minutes this morning.

Ticketmaster Ireland managing director Eamonn O'Connor said it was "one of the fastest-selling concerts we ever had."

At one stage, 12,000 fans were logged on to try and buy tickets. There were also long lines outside Ticketmaster outlets across the country.

AC/DC plays the O2 Point on April 18, the band's only show in Ireland.

The group, which released its new album, "Black Ice", in Ireland yesterday, also sold out concerts in London, Manchester and Birmingham within minutes of the tickets going on sale. Tickets for a second show in London on April 16 also sold out immediately.
