Con un comunicato diffuso dal sito ufficiale i RUNNING WILD hanno annunciato il loro scioglimento. La band terrà l'ultimo show della sua luna carriera il 30 luglio al Wacken Open Air 2009. Evento da cui verrà estratto un live in Dvd/Cd che sigillerà la storia della band.

The sensation is perfect. For the 20th anniversary of Wacken Ballroom Hamburg presents the German Metal legend RUNNING WILD for a last mega-show on Europe's largest metal stage – fittingly to the 30th anniversary of the band: Rock'n'Rolf is taking his final leave with a bombastic farewell show on Thursday, July 30th 2009 during the "Night To Remember".

Now after 30 years of RUNNING WILD I feel it's time to lower the flag and to take down the sails to face new challenges.

That's why we want to celebrate the 30 years' history of the band for a last time at this year's Wacken Open Air on the occasion of its 20th anniversary with a two-hour headlining Best-Of show on Thursday, July 30th with a lot of surprises to bring it to a dignified end.

It's also planned to record a Live-DVD and -CD of that show to make it complete.

Now I can look down with calmness on the last 30 years and I feel proud of what I have reached. At the same time, nothing of that would have been possible without your support during the last decades. That's why I wanna say thanks for all the wonderful moments of that career and I wish you all the best for the future!

Come annunciato dal frontman dei RUNNING WILD, Rock 'n' Rolf, tramite un video sul sito ufficiale della band, l'atteso DVD del concerto d'addio tenuto al Wacken Open Air 2009 non è ancora stato ultimato a causa di problemi tecnici. Stando a quanto dichiarato da Rolf pare che la compagnia che si è occupata delle riprese abbia "fatto casino" con le tracce di ogni singolo strumento e che come materiale audio sia rimasta solo una traccia stereo. Ora i tecnici sarebbero al lavoro per cercare di rendere il materiale pubblicabile assieme ad interviste e altri video presi dagli archivi di Rolf.

Su Running-wild.net è stata pubblicata l'intervista esclusiva che Metal.de ha condotto col il leader dei RUNNING WILD, Rolf Kasparek. Rolf, parlando della decisione di sciogliere la band e del suo futuro, ha affermato di essere attualmente al lavoro su una raccolta di 22 vecchi brani dei RUNNING WILD che per l'occasione verranno completamente riregistrati. Previste inoltre 2-3 tracce completamente nuove. Il lavoro dovrebbe uscire entro l'anno.

Rolf ha comunque precisato che i RUNNING WILD sono sciolti e che al momento non pensa ad un possibile ritorno.

Il cantante chitarrista è inoltre al lavoro su un altro progetto con il chitarrista Peter Jordan (RUNNING WILD).





Ma se la band è sciolta, con chi li ri-registra questi pezzi?

C'è un disco, non ricordo quale, in cui era risaputo che era un drum machine...

Mi sono informato, pare da "The Rivalry" in poi. Infatti pare che anche il fantomatico batterista Angelo Sasso sia un nick della drum machine.

I RUNNING WILD hanno annunciato la reunion e torneranno ad aprile 2012 con un nuovo album, intitolato “Shadowmaker“, che uscirà per SPV Records.

Questo il commento del leader “Rock ‘N’ Rolf” Kasparek:

“Le mie dichiarazioni rilasciate nel 2009 riguardo allo scioglimento dei RUNNING WILD erano assolutamente serie. Avevo veramente bisogno di un periodo di pausa e, onestamente, non potevo certo immaginare che a gennaio 2011 avrei avuto voglia di scrivere un nuovo album. Ma quando ho avuto l’ispirazione per fare una raccolta alla quale avrei aggiunto quattro nuovi pezzi, ho riscoperto la mia passione per la composizione. Da lì a comporre un nuovo album il passo è stato breve”.

“Shadowmaker” conterrà 10 nuovi pezzi tra cui il mid tepo d’apertura “Piece Of The Action“, l’up tempo “Shadowmaker” (simile a “Angel Of Mercy” come tempi) e “Dracula“, un brano da otto minuti incentrato sul romanzo di Bram Stoker e sulla rappresentazione cinematografica interpretata da Christopher Lee.
